God's Kitchen of Michigan's
Elizabeth Brindley 2022 Volunteer of the Year

Tonda Dimond, Portage Chapel Hill Church Member, and Volunteer Kitchen Coordinator, received the 2022 God's Kitchen of Michigan Elizabeth Brindley Volunteer of the Year Award
from Pastor William Stein, Co-Founder and Board Chairman.
Mrs. Tonda Dimond, our Third Wednesday of the Month Kitchen Coordinator at Portage Chapel Hill Church, is our 2022 Elizabeth Brindley Volunteer of the Year Award Winner for Portage and Kalamazoo. Tonda is a retired nurse and member of the church. She coordinates our free dinner activities on the third Wednesday of every month from our Portage Chapel Hill Church meal site, including recruiting church volunteers and meal planning. Pastor Stein refers to Tonda as his surrogate mother. This is high praise, especially after his mother, the late Joan Lafayette, co-founder and vice-president of God's Kitchen of Michigan passed in February 2021. Congratulations, Tonda. Thank you for helping us continue to fight hunger in Kalamazoo and Portage. God bless you.
